White Swamp Milkweed, also known as Aquatic milkweed, is the flower you and your monarchs need for those boggy areas of your garden. If you have a pond or an especially soggy spot, this is the milkweed for you. The flowers are white, but before they fully open, the corollas may appear as pink. Bloom time is May through September. The leaves are long, narrow, and a deeper green than some of our other milkweed species. Start this one in the fall. Flowers may not appear until the second year.
